25-27 June, 2025 Umeå, Sweden Hosted jointly with Umeå University and the Centre for Regional Science at Umeå University (CERUM) In summer 2025 EdgeNet convened a paper workshop in Umeå, Sweden! The workshop included peer-to-peer feedback on writing works-in-progress at various stages of development, and field trips to witness peripheral development dynamics in northern Sweden--an emerging hub of green-technologies related resource development. 25-26 June, 2024 Cornwall, England Hosted jointly with the University of Exeter and Institute for Cornish Studies In summer 2024 EdgeNet convened a paper workshop in lovely Cornwall, England for researchers working on peripheral topics to receive constructive, in-depth feedback from their peers on works-in-progress. Researchers were in attendance from the England, USA, Sweden, Italy, Ireland, Scotland, and China. Coupled with the paper workshop, local hosts provided historical and place-based perspectives on peripheral development dynamics through field trips to local multiple-use natural areas, a lithium mining site, and we observed local tourism developments through a day at the beach. |
